Through close collaboration with the client’s team, we delivered a revamped, cloud-based travel management technology platform that streamlined operations and elevated the client’s overall business offering. Simultaneously, we reconfigured the production environment, migrating it to the AWS cloud, and integrated new features to enhance functionality and customer satisfaction.

The project evolved from separate assignments into a full-fledged partnership to work on a comprehensive solution, resulting in streamlined processes and an optimized business-focused hotel booking portal for production and maintenance.

Our client is a technology group creating and supporting software products for accommodation booking services. After 50 years on the business-oriented travel market, the company boasts a diverse portfolio of online travel and tourism products: a global hotel booking portal, a vacation rental platform, and a European travel service. With its multi-tiered offering, the group targets both the corporate segment and individual travelers.

Business challenge

To facilitate and accelerate software production flows across the entire organization, our client orchestrated a redesign of their development platform. The goal of this initiative was to empower developers with additional options and opportunities, allowing them to explore innovative software creation methods.

At the same time, the client saw the need to enhance the functionality of their online hotel booking portal, adding features designed to enrich the customer experience and increase the attractiveness of the service offering. Requirements included implementing a smoother check-in process for customers and automating room price benchmarking.

Intellias engineers spearheaded a strategic initiative to improve development efficiency. This involved building a self-service development platform for our internal team. To expedite delivery and streamline workflows, we leveraged the robust features offered by AWS. Additionally, we comprehensively refactored the existing development platform, ensuring a modern foundation for future projects.

The solution included migrating the client’s legacy platform to Amazon Web Services and enhancing the development environment with advanced AWS products to facilitate and streamline software production and testing flows. We set up an effective AWS technology stack to meet the client’s requirements for performance, scalability, and security: EC2 cloud computing resources, a Dynamo DB database, the SQS message queueing service, and the SNS notification service.

The customer-facing booking portal upgrade showcased advanced features designed to create superb user experiences:

  • Automated price adjustment to match the best available offering
  • Contactless check-in for improved guest convenience
  • Customer onboarding flow with dedicated landing zones

Business outcomes
