A technology-oriented iGaming provider reached out to us for expert assistance in transforming core platform functionality. The project was triggered by the client’s acquisition of a peer online gaming company with the goal of expanding their presence on the iGaming market.
The Intellias team collaborated with the client’s developers to improve and optimize the platform’s performance and enable additional integrations, allowing the client to implement services of third-party operators. The project included deep refinements to the platform’s code and operational flows.

Business challenge
After acquiring a new iGaming business, our client needed to integrate the acquired platform into their ecosystem to be able to extend their geographic presence and offer enhanced functionality to customers. For seamless integration, the newly acquired iGaming platform needed to be stabilized and optimized, which called for a major refactoring of the existing code.
After a discovery phase that identified problems and possible solutions, a team of Intellias engineers outlined four areas for improvement, with a common goal of optimizing platform performance:
- Enhancing platform functionality with new features
- Optimizing the database
- Enabling third-party integrations
- Refactoring code
Solution
Based on the project roadmap, Intellias formed four teams, each focused on a specific improvement area. Leveraging the benefits of Continent 8, a dedicated network solution for iGaming products, we enhanced the features of the existing core platform, boosting performance and accelerating processes.
For better product responsiveness, we improved the efficiency of the existing database, speeding up query processing and data retrieval. The redesigned solution relies on functionality of the MySQL database management system, shortening the response time and smoothing the overall experience.
Our integration team implemented connectors with third-party services, enhancing the iGaming platform with features provided by other online gaming operators. By building organic integrations with the acquired platform and other services, we enabled our client to expand their offering and make the business more attractive to customers.
Leveraging cloud computing technologies and the microservices architecture, we redesigned the platform’s core code, increasing its scalability and robustness and setting up the platform for future growth.
