Intellias, a global technology partner for automotive and mobility companies, has announced a membership in the Connected Vehicle Systems Alliance (COVESA). COVESA is a global, member-driven alliance developing open standards and technologies for connected vehicles and sustainable mobility ecosystems. Membership gives Intellias the opportunity to cooperate with industry leaders and become more integrated with other alliances including AUTOSAR, eSync, W3C, and OPIN.
As a member of COVESA, Intellias will focus on developing new competencies by working with the automotive industry and open-source development experts. This will provide the company with a deeper understanding of technological innovations required by automotive and mobility companies. In joining COVESA, Intellias has become a member of a collaborative community that includes BMW Group, Bosch, Ford Motor Company, LG Electronics, Renault Group, and NVIDIA, among other industry leaders.
Synergy that drives business value
Members of the COVESA community are actively contributing to a variety of technological projects to strengthen the mobility ecosystem with in-vehicle, edge, and in-cloud services. Intellias plans to share its 20 years of proven experience in software-defined automotive solutions to deliver business value both for COVESA members and the company’s new and existing clients. Intellias aims to participate in a broad scope of technological projects within the COVESA community, including EV charging projects, PoC development, and knowledge-sharing events.
COVESA is pleased to have Intellias as a new member of our global, collaborative community. Intellias has joined at an exciting time when the COVESA VSS is gaining great adoption in the industry and new projects around EV charging, software defined vehicle and in-vehicle experience are gathering momentum. We look forward to the active contributions and thought leadership brought by the Intellias team and welcome them to the community.
It’s great to see how vehicles add more value through the connected ecosystem. We’re proud to contribute to connected vehicle with the leading industry players who are already part of the association and define trends for EV, cloud platforms, and in-vehicle software.
Technological excellence for automotive and mobility
Vehicle data and vehicle-to-cloud connectivity have become mission-critical components for automakers and their suppliers. Among the active technological projects covered by COVESA members are:
- Vehicle Signal Specification, developed with W3C as a common approach for more efficient data collection and management.
- Android Automotive Special Interest Group (SIG) focuses on software integration and supports automakers and their suppliers in adopting Android Auto.
- In-Vehicle Payment/EV Charging Special Interest Group (SIG) explores standard and novel approaches for in-vehicle commerce and payments.
- EV Charging Event Data Aggregation Project focuses on standardizing data and APIs to enable data sharing at a large scale for an excellent charging experience.
- Automotive Cybersecurity Project addresses a growing number of standards and topics enhancing in-vehicle cybersecurity.
There is no doubt that one single company cannot solve all challenges the automotive industry is facing nowadays. Trends like autonomous driving, software defined and connected vehicles, and electrification make software more and more complex. I strongly believe in the importance of industry alliances and open-source communities to reduce this complexity. We are very excited to join COVESA and all its great members to collaborate and develop standards that can be used across the entire industry.
