Chicago, IL – May 19, 2025 – Connected devices were once seen as niche innovations, but Intellias is designing smart products that have become part of everyday life. The global software engineering and digital consulting company has been recognized by Forrester in The Connected Product Engineering Services Landscape, Q2 2025.
Intellias has extensive experience building connections across industries because global companies are investing more in smart devices that merge physical products with software-driven intelligence.
The Forrester report reaffirms our status as a product engineering services provider of IoT and connected product engineering services. We’re particularly proud of the way we have integrated new technologies to help our clients accelerate innovation in this area. By integrating AI from design to deployment, we have included benefits like predictive maintenance and dynamic service creation to deliver truly smart products.
Intellias has helped companies from many industries develop connected devices for different situations. Examples of connected device experiences include:
- Stress-Free Human-Machine Interface (HMI) for Navigation: Intellias worked with a luxury car manufacturer to build an in-dash HMI system that offered advanced urban mobility, companion mobile apps, and support for e-vehicles and hybrids. Intellias designed and implemented a comprehensive, distraction-free HMI that combines mobile devices, vehicle head units, heads-up displays, and rear-seat displays into one cross-linked system.
- IoT-enabled smart farming in space: With the help of Intellias, another tech company built a sensor-based lighting system for precise crop condition monitoring, uniform illumination, and optimized plant growth in enclosed, vertical environments. NASA now uses the system to research plant cultivation and grow fresh food in space for astronauts.
- Cloud service for digital twin systems: When an indoor mapping scale-up needed help with 3D model development, Intellias shared its skills designing digital twins. The companies collaboratively built a SaaS system on AWS to offer property owners access to shareable, low-latency building scans 24/7. The system manipulates cloud storage infrastructure through an API, while property owners and customers get different, responsive UIs for navigation. Intellias also developed advanced features to improve user experience, like connecting the API of a popular payment platform and offering single sign-on (SSO).
- AI-powered telecom network cable mapping: Intellias designed a software tool for a telecom company to automate the planning, design, and management of large-scale FTTx projects. This tool relies heavily on geographical and fiber network maps of municipalities and rural areas, and it was necessary to cut manual hours and costs. The solution designed by Intellias applies AI principles through modified machine learning clustering algorithms and optimization methods from transportation theory. The system simulates intelligent decision-making by automating cable and duct layout planning based on live GIS data and pre-defined constraints, reducing manual work and accelerating FTTx network deployment.
