Intellias Joins the Unified Acceleration Foundation as a Contributing Member

As a member of the UXL Foundation, Intellias will drive mobility innovation through contribution to specification development and open-source projects

Chicago, Il – April 7, 2025 – Intellias, a global technology partner for end-to-end product engineering, has officially joined the Unified Acceleration Foundation (UXL Foundation) as a contributing member. By participating in community-driven development of specifications and open-source projects, Intellias aims to accelerate innovation through its involvement in key Working Groups and Special Interest Groups within the UXL Foundation.

Hosted by the Linux Foundation’s Joint Development Foundation, the UXL Foundation unites a diverse ecosystem of participants to establish an open standard for developing high-performance applications across various architectures. This initiative aims to advance the oneAPI specification, establishing a multi-architecture and multi-vendor programming model for diverse accelerators.

We are really happy to have Intellias join the UXL Foundation as a Contributing Member to help drive open accelerated compute across embedded and the automotive industry. We have a growing number of members working in the automotive space and look forward to seeing how they can harness the UXL libraries in the next generation of vehicles.

As a contributing member, Intellias will engage in key Working Groups and Special Interest Groups, including:

  • Language Group: Focuses on integrating programming languages with the oneAPI specification.
  • Artificial Intelligence Group: Concentrates on AI implementation and operations.

Intellias will leverage its expertise in embedded automotive development, Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) solutions, and high-performance computing. The company plans to promote UXL Foundation initiatives across the automotive and mobility community, enhancing its collaboration with organizations like AUTOSAR and the Khronos Group.

Joining the UXL Foundation marks a significant step in our journey to accelerate innovation in the mobility and automotive sectors. As we continue to drive Software-Defined Vehicles (SDVs) and autonomous driving projects, we keep focus on heterogeneous computing and hardware acceleration as key tech enablers for these breakthrough technologies. By leveraging diverse processing architectures, such as CPUs, GPUs, and specialized accelerators, we aim to enhance performance, efficiency, and safety in modern vehicles. This collaboration enhances our ability to integrate a broader range of technologies into automotive solutions, including the Intellias Automotive Technology Platform, driving faster innovation in the industry.

Intellias plans to integrate new features from its collaboration with the UXL Foundation into the Intellias Automotive Technology Platform (IntelliKit). IntelliKit is a comprehensive demonstration platform showcasing the company’s engineering expertise by integrating automotive-grade hardware and software. It offers a chip-to-cloud solution, highlighting all technologies needed to build modern vehicles, from sensors, through microcontrollers, in-vehicle communication, to complex Head Units and integration with cloud platforms. By incorporating UXL Foundation’s technologies, IntelliKit will provide a practical demonstration of the open-standard accelerator software ecosystem provided by the UXL Foundation and its members.

By joining the UXL Foundation, Intellias continues to position itself at the forefront of technological innovation, driving the future of accelerated computing and contributing to the evolution of open standards within the mobility and automotive industries.
